General
Q.
What is the difference between HTML and HDML?
A. HTML sites are viewed from your desktop and contain
color and graphics. In order to accommodate wireless requirements,
HDML was created to view some of your same favorite web sites
in a text only format.
Q.
What is the difference between text messaging and having access
to the browser?
A. As it stands today, text messaging allows you to
receive information, either in the form of an alphanumeric
page or as a personalized alert. The Browser allows you to
seek out information from the handset and have a 2-way interaction.
Q.
If I am roaming throughout Verizon Wireless' footprint, can I still
use the browser and receive alerts?
A. While roaming, you can use your browser and receive
alerts where available within the digital footprint. Refer
to www.verizonwireless.com for a list of cities.
Q.
If I upgrade my handset, do I need a new user name and password
for my personal myvzw.com page?
A. You may keep the same user name and password if
you upgrade your handset. Should you change your phone number,
you will need to update your personal profile.
Q. Can I keep my personal profile if I have one set
up with another wireless service provider?
A. You will need to set up a new profile to use Verizon
Wireless' Mobile Web service at myvzw.com. This site will
allow you to personalize content that can be viewed either
via the desktop or your wireless handset.
Q.
Will my handset take a long time to download information?
A. Although text messages take less than 5 seconds
to be received, browsing sessions may take a bit longer to
download due to the greater volume of text received.
Q.
How many entries can I have in my address book? Can I call
them directly from the database?
A. You can have unlimited contacts located at myvzw.com.
Yes, you can call a contact directly from that database.

Mobile
Web
Q.
Do I need a special phone to use the browser or can I use
my existing digital phone?

Verizon Wireless offers handsets such as the Audiovox 9000,
Motorola 7868, Motorola 7860, Kyocera 860, and SAMSUNG 850.
Q. How do I get started using
the browser?

key strokes are as follows:

- Motorola
7868 Press the left side center smart key - scroll to "launch
browser" and hit the left side center smart key again.

Q.
Can I receive a call when I am using the browser?
A. When you use a browser, the session can "timeout"
after a minute of not being asked to retrieve a new HDML page.
Although you are still able to surf at will, the browser remains
idle until you request another action. At that time of being
idle, you may receive a call. Your browser session will be
temporarily suspended and can resume at the place where you
left off once you end your call. If you are in an active browser
session, your call will go into voice mail. The way you can
tell if you are in an active mode or not is if you can see
the icon of the phone receiver indicating a call is in progress.
Q.
Do I use my voice minutes to surf the web or is it unlimited?
A. You may use as many minutes as you wish, however,
they will be deducted from your regular packaged rate plan
minutes. Should you go over your bundled minutes, additional
minute charges will apply as normal.
Q.
How much does it cost per month to have access to the browser?
A. Mobile Web access fee is a low $6.95 per month.
This gives you full access to the browser, the ability to
